The role of fish farming in the European Ocean Pact
On June 5th, the European Commission adopted the European Ocean Pact, a comprehensive strategy to better protect the ocean, promote a thriving blue economy and support the well-being of people living in coastal areas. The Pact brings together EU ocean policies under one single reference framework, addressing the significant threats facing our ocean, our coastal communities, islands and outermost regions.
FEAP has followed closely the design of this Ocean Pact and will continue pushing for it to ensure thriving European fisheries and aquaculture, fostering access to young professionals in marine research, ocean tech, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture through its associated Blue Generational Renewal Strategy.
